Job Description:
Responsible for the administration of business-critical virtual and physical Linux servers and Linux-based services
Responsible for investigating and coordinating the resolution of potential and actual service problems, including issues related to applications and infrastructure
Will serve as an expert resource and will work cross-functionally with other teams including Development, Operations, and Support to engineer solutions and solve problems to increase overall efficiency and reliability
Will provide consulting and training to developers and others developing or integrating applications and systems that employ or interact with Linux applications, systems, and services
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related fields
Deep experience running highly available, 24×7 mission-critical services
Proven 5 – 6 years of Linux System Engineering, with Red Hat and CentOS
RHCE or similar Linux Systems Administration certificates (RHCSA/LPIC) is a plus
Solid experience in systems administration across Linux systems
Solid knowledge of IP networks (Layer2/3), routing, switching, tunneling, etc.
Extensive troubleshooting and performance tuning skills with Linux
Extensive experience with hardening Linux as per Cyber Security Frameworks and best practices
Scripting experience, with Perl and/or Python and shell scripting languages to automate existing and workloads and routine system admin tasks
Experience with lifecycle management tools and technologies such as Foreman/Katello and Satellite
Experience with provisioning/managing Linux using configuration management tools and DevOps services and concepts, i.e., Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, or equivalents
Strong understanding of network and server security
Strong understanding of VMware virtualization technologies
Experience with database deployment and operation (PostgreSQL, and/or Oracle)
Good understanding of Enterprise Storage (Dell EMC, NetApp, etc.) solutions and management
Experience with monitoring using tools such as PRTG, LibreNMS, Cacti, and others
Strong analysis, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Must be a self-starter with strong work habits, able to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Excellent command of written and spoken English
Should not have restrictions for travel/work within the country and abroad
Ability to participate in a 24/7/365 on-call rotation
